I was born and lived in beautiful Sussex by the sea. I lived in a little pink cottage called ‘Lollypops’ which was situated in an old church yard at the foot of the South Downs.  From my bedroom window I looked out toward Chanctonbury Ring – a ring of trees which hold mystery and a hundred stories. This view captured my imagination and inspired me to paint and create stories of wonder.
I have always written and illustrated in sketchbooks and journals and enjoy motivating others to capture their thoughts and memories in journals of their own.

I hold regular workshops which promote well-being through art and words. (contact me for workshop information )

Attendees create journals and learn how to record daily life, through words and simple illustrative drawings, sketches, collage, textiles and paint techniques.

A few years ago I moved to Norfolk. I live in a converted barn surrounded by fields and I manage and enjoy a large garden. I love the big skies here, the amazing endless sandy beaches, fields that stretch for acres, and the joy of seeing the horizon. There is a special pure light here in Norfolk, which creates a mood whatever the weather. It's easy to be inspired to create, when we are surrounded by natural beauty.  I love the gentleness of the Norfolk countryside and its coast line.

I am never far from the sea and although my travels have taken me all over the world, I am regularly drawn back to the rugged coast of Cornwall. Inspired by the Cornish Cape and the coves around  The Lizard, Kynance Cove, Mullion and Cadgwith, I will sit for hours sketching the wild sea and the grey drama of the threatening sky. I paint in watercolour and acrylic, but my favourite medium for painting the sky and seascapes is oil.

I store up my memories in sketchbooks and journals. I am a keen photographer, capturing images ready to be used in paintings and drawings.
Memories are being made every moment of the day and we need to mark them so they can be treasured and kept alive. (See memory commissions to purchase)
